001. ORIGIN. EXPLAINED. MATERIALS USED IN OUR GARMENTS
05/04/2026
From the very beginning, our goals has been clear: to craft products using natural materials, while reducing our impact on the world they come from. For our first collection, that commitment led us to work entirely with organic cotton. Sounds straightforward, right? But here's where it changes things. When we say entirely, we mean it. Not just the fabric you feel, but every small detail: the neck labels, care labels, even the patch on our Foundation tees. All of it.
The result? Garment made from 100% organic cotton.
But that choice doesn't come easy. In most cases, a "Made out of 100% cotton"-claim quietly excludes trims and labels. The industry standard relies on materials like satin of polyester for these elements. And this is for good reason as they resist dye, shrinking, and the stresses of production. Convenience. Choosing cotton for everything means stepping outside that standard. It adds complexity. It creates challenges. But we like a challenge. Working closely with our supplier in Portugal, we introduced shrinkage testing across every component. We also applied colour-setting treatments to prevent colour bleeding and built in a wash cycle to prevet shrinkage in the hands of our customers.
Every step with intention, because in the end, it allows us to be proud to market a product that is all natural and fully recyclable when its time comes to an end.
