When creating garments, one of the most common terms we work with is GSM.

GSM stands for gram per square meter and is used to measure the weight and density of a fabric. In simple terms, it helps determine how light, heavy, soft or substantial a garment feels.
A lower GSM fabric often feels lighter and more breathable, while a higher GSM fabric usually creates a heavier and more structured feel.

As refined garment makers, GSM plays an important role throughout the entire development process. It influences how a garment drapes, how it feels on the body and how it performs over time.

But numbers alone never tell the full story.

GSM is often misused as a term representing quality. In reality, the quality of the yarns, the knit structure, the construction, and the finishing all work together with the GSM to shape the final garment.

For our hoodies, we work with a heavyweight 450 GSM fabric to create a more substantial and structured feel.
The Origin. tees are based on a 300 GSM fabric. The fabric is perfectly balanced in thickness to maintain an ideal structured fit when worn alone, while ensuring breathability and enough lightness for layering or tucking in.
